These boys make my heart sing

My hubby has been off work this week and it's been lovely having him around during the day. We've just been hanging out together, but the boys have been loving it. They've both been so happy this week, and they are such sweet little boys.

They make my heart sing :) (and these photos make me realise just how big they are both getting, especially my 3 year old, Jack)

My Creative Space - getting ready for market

I've been a busy little beaver (wonder how busy beavers actually are???) getting ready for my first market stall ever. I'm getting really excited!! My lovely friend has been trying to convince me for a while that I should just go. for. it. but I didn't know what I was going to make. What if I failed? etc.

Well, time to put on my big girl undies and just DO IT! The market is at a local preschool in the evening, so is a perfect little market to try out. It's in July so I've been busily making stuff - hair accessories & bunting so far.

My Creative Space - granny squares!

Last weekend, I went to a crochet class. I have love love loved looking at granny squares for years and finally I went along to learn how to make them.

The class was so much fun, but an hour or so in I *still* wasn't really getting it and thought "oh no! I'm NEVER going to know how to make a granny square!"

But then something clicked. A light bulb moment. It made sense!! Woot!

Yes they are still quite dodgy, but I've made 2 granny squares and here's the proof...

Crochet class tomorrow!

I'm off to a crochet class tomorrow and I'm SO looking forward to it! I love love love granny squares and have wanted to know how to do it for AGES. Time to learn.

Will report back tomorrow night and fingers crossed I'll have a granny square to show off too :)

Best friends

Do you have a best friend??

I don't. And lately, I've been a bit down about it. I'd love to have someone who thinks of me and calls me just to tell me something they were thinking. Someone to hang on the lounge in daggy clothes with, watch trashy telly with, go on walks with, go shopping with, just hang out with. Someone who wants me around. A lot.

I used to have a best friend. We were besties for over 10 years. More like 13 years. They were great years. We laughed, cried, hung out, had fun, went everywhere together. Joined at the hip. Oh, we are still good mates, but somewhere we lost our way. I miss her. I miss that closeness. I miss having her to talk to on the phone every night. I often wonder what happened. Husbands? Kids? Life? Work? Households? I dunno what it was, but a little piece of me feels like it is missing.

Don't get me wrong, I have a great bunch of friends that I see regularly, but my heart craves a close girlfriend to lose myself with.

Mothers Day

Jack goes to preschool on a Friday and today when Luke and I went to pick him up he was a bit excited. It was because he had my Mothers Day pressies in his school bag. (yay!) Luke also goes to the same school on a Monday when I'm at work.

When we got home, he was SO keen to open the pressies. We sat on the lounge room floor and tore open the pressies. Look what my boys made me....

My Creative Space

I've been a bit busy this last week! It was my son's first birthday party on Sunday, and of course he needed a new pair of party pants :) I made a pair of cowboy pants complete with 2 cute little pockets on the back. He looked so cute and I got lots of great comments. Yay!

I love love love bunting and have some pretty fabric in my never ending stash that was calling out to be made into something.

My other little project this week was making up a grocery bag holder, but for my tea towels. I'm constantly losing my tea towels and have no room in any of my kitchen drawers for them, so this was my solution. It's working really well!

Sunday Citar - Luke turns one!

Today we had a party to celebrate Luke turning one. I can't believe he is one already, but then it also feels like he has been here forever. He's such a lovely little boy and it's a joy having him in our family :)

Flea Market Finds

Like lots of fellow bloggers out there, I love searching through op shops, garage sales, side of the road clean ups etc looking for things that I can reuse.
