Flea Market Finds

Like lots of fellow bloggers out there, I love searching through op shops, garage sales, side of the road clean ups etc looking for things that I can reuse.

This week, I'm joining in over here to share Flea Market finds.

At my local op shop, I spied this cute little make up bag. I was in need of a new make up bag, and this one was the perfect size and pefect price... at 50c. Bargain!

Sunday Citar

I've missed the last 2 Sunday Citars due to being on holidays and due to a bit of illness, so I'm excited to be joining back in again this week.

My hubby took these photos on our weekend at the beach

My baby is walking!!

My baby turns one next week and a few weeks ago he was very happy with himself when he took a few steps. He did it for a couple of days and then seemed to lose interest as crawling is so much faster!

Fast forward to last night and he suddenly decided that it was time for him to walk. Up and down the loungeroom his little legs went and he was stoked!!! He looks so cute walking along. This morning he did some more walking.

Awww, little Luke is growing up!! (and why yes, he IS wearing the pants I made for him last week)

Apron Swap

After having so much fun with the Pin Cushion swap (my first swap!) I am joining in on my next swap.

It's the Great Apron Swap of 2010!

Now I have to think of what I'm going to make!

My Creative Space

This week, I've been away from home so haven't had much of a chance to work on any projects.

But, I did manage to start a little project for Jack. I found a little oven on the side of the road for council clean up (oh, how I love council clean up!) and brought it home to make over.

I took Jack to the hardware to choose some paint. He chose a lovely green and white. We have started, and it's looking good. Should need one more coat of green paint and then we can do the knobs in white.

The artists at work!

After 2 coats of paint

I think it will look really cool once we have finished.

Finished my pin cushion

I'm going to pop up to the post office today to post the pin cushion I made for the pin cushion swap. I hope the person receiving it likes it!

Received my pin cushion!!

I'm participating in Kate's pin cushion swap and received mine!! It's a nice big pin cushion and the fabrics are so pretty.

Tanya from Apple and Tangerine made my pin cushion for me. She included in this purple flowery vintage sheeting with my pin cushion (and some chocolate... but that's long gone!) and it's funny because I thought the sheeting looked familiar. I was right! My mum has the matching pillow cases! Mum's is quite faded through lots of wear, but it's still the same pattern.

Thanks so much Tanya for my pin cushion. I love it :)

Jack getting into ironing!

Last week at our local markets, I bought this little ironing board for Jack. We didn't have a little iron, but he has been having fun lining his cars up on it!

Yesterday I was at my mum's place and what did I spy?? My old little iron from when I was little! Jack has been ironing away since we brought it home.. he even ironed his dad's work shirt this morning! What a big help he is :)

I'm thinking I'm going to give the ironing board a make over. Maybe paint the legs and make up a new ironing board cover in boyish colours. Add it to the loooong list of things to do!

My Creative Space

Last week I went to a garage sale and in a box under a table I found some fabric. There was lots of daggy old stuff, but one piece jumped out at me due to its brightness! Oh so bright and so yellow. And for $2 for just over 2 metres, it was a bargain!

See the brightness??

I was thinking for a while what I could turn it into and then thought... cushions! It would really brighten my lounge up.

And seeing as I have some left over, I think I'll make a little table cloth for our side table. I've draped it over the table to see what it looks like.

Sunday Citar

"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. I'll always be with you.” from Winnie the Pooh

I saw this quote and thought of my boy, Jack. He is my little mate :)

Happy Easter!

My Creative Space

I've always liked those little half curtains on kitchen windows. The ones that seem to pop up in the background of the cute little houses that appear in movies that the struggling characters can somehow afford!

So, I decided that my kitchen window would look so much cuter with one of these curtains. And you know what? It DOES look cuter!

I used Amy Butler fabric that matches the quilt I made for the lounge.
