My new logo! :)

I'm so excited by my new logo. My lovely friend Claire over at Frangipani Designs made me a gorgeous new logo. I really love it! I wanted a birdy and wanted splashing (for splish splash of course!) and she designed me the following logo. I love that the birdy looks like patchwork and has sewing around it :)

Now I just need to figure out what I am going to make to sell at markets and then I can use my logo out and about.

What do you think of my new logo?

My boy and his baby

Jack has a favourite toy... his little baby. I bought it for him when I brought Luke home and he is such a great little Mama bear to it. The baby (whose name IS baby) is cuddled every night in bed, has a day bed in the lounge room (that Jack tucks him into whenever baby is showing any signs of being tired), is breastfed quite often during the day and goes along to preschool with Jack. I've even babysat baby when Jack has "gone to work" in the sandpit. I'm such a good Grandma :)

He just loves baby and here's a pic of the 2 of them together xx

My Creative Space - finished knitted blanket!

Earlier this month, I blogged about the knitted blanket I started for Luke (here)

Today, I finished it!!! Woot!! I'm really happy with how it turned out. Luke will look so cute snuggled underneath it in winter.

Here it is all folded up

Here's his cot before the blanket was added (and the quilt I made for him)

Here's the cot with the blanket added :) (doesn't it look snuggly!)

And the nursery showing it hanging on the cot

My Creative Space - Home Sweet Home

I'm going to do something a little different this week on My Creative Space. Instead of showing my knitting or my sewing, I'm going to show some other arty stuff.

I've been looking around for a while for a sign to put on our wall at home between our lounges. I want a Home Sweet Home print. I couldn't find one that I loved, so I made one instead! I had a play on photoshop with some clipart that I bought from here and made up my own little sign. I think I like it! Now I just need to get it printed and framed.

Then, yesterday when I was doing some gardening with my 3 year old, I went into our shed which has a LOT of stuff in it. I was rumaging around in there and found a sign that I made years ago. I used to have it up at our old place and considering we have been in this house for 5.5 years, it's a long time since I have seen that sign! It never made it out of the unpacking here.

Think I'll find a nice spot for it outside and put it up.

Sunday Citar

Another week has passed and it's time for Sunday Citar. The week seemed to fly by, but maybe it's because this coming week is my last one on maternity leave. I go back to work in a week after having 12 months home with my babies. I have mixed feelings about it and really would prefer to stay at home.

So, this week is about children again :) These pics are of my son and his cousin last week. We were at a park and they were most interested in jumping in this muddy puddle! They had so much fun. I love childhood!

My creative space

I'm playing along with My Creative Space again this week. And while I have spent most of the week knitting the blanket I shared last week, I have managed to find the time to start sewing a bag.

I'm using this pattern by Tanya Whelan. I love her fabrics and will give it a go in her fabrics next I think. It's not finished yet, but is taking shape!

Sunday Citar

This week for Sunday Citar I'm using a quote from a movie. A love story. The Notebook. *ahhhhhhh* I really love this movie and was thinking about it today and particularly love the following quote;

"The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds, and that's what you've given me. That's what I hope to give to you forever."

And the image I have chosen this week was one that my hubby took in our garden. Love the quote and the photo, so they are both my Sunday Citar this week :)

Mathilda's Markets

This morning, I made a little trip to Mathilda's Market to check it all out. So much beautiful stuff! Oh, how lovely! I dragged my poor husband along and expected a bit of whingeing, but he was fine :)

Some gorgeous little stands and I managed to not spend too much money. Woot!

I bought 2 greeting cards from Just Smitten to hang on my wall near my sewing area

I bought a little red robot from Rudy And The Dodo for Jack

Some fabric from Retro Mummy whose blog I love to read!

Some hairclips from Please Eloise for me. Yes, they are supposed to be for little girls... but big girls can wear them too, right?? And so can their 3 year old sons! Jack and I both had one in today :)

But, my favourite thing from my market trip, is my new doll. I bought her just for me. She's going to hang out on my shelf near my sewing area. She's from Bloss Dolls and I just found out her name is Emma... hmmm, I had already named her Stella! Will see what name I go with for her ;)

My Creative Space

I'm joining in My Creative Space for the first time this week.

This week, I've been knitting. And while I love knitting and find it really relaxing, gee it takes a long time!! I have such little time to create (what with the craziness of life with 2 small boys!) and it feels like knitting can waste some of that time! I do much prefer to sew, but when my sewing table is full of stuff, it can take half of my spare time to just clear a space! So, this week, knitting it is!

I've started a blanket for my baby for winter.

Here's the start of it. I'm using wool that is blue, brown and tan

And of course I had to sew a little bag to keep my knitting in!
