A fabric giveaway

Over on retro mummy's blog she is having a fabric giveaway of this fabric. Isn't it loverly!

So THAT'S where babies come from!

Jack and Luke were having a bath together tonight and Michael and I were both in the bathroom chatting with the boys.

At one stage we asked Jack if he knew where babies came from. He thought about it for a bit. Then he pointed at Luke and said "there. They come from the bath!"

Oh! So babies come from the bath!! Thanks Jack :)

We started swimming lessons this week

Yep. And here are the goggles to prove it!

I thought it was time to start Jack in swimming lessons. I chose an indoor pool close to us and booked him in. Thursdays at 11am.

We rocked up a little early to get used to the pool, got changed into his swimmers and watched the other kids in the pool. Jack was so keen to get in the pool. "I want to go swimming now." We waited for his turn and realised he was going to be the only one in the class. Perfect. His first lesson would be private.

The teacher, Christine, came over and asked Jack if he wanted to sit on the side of the pool. Yes. We both sat down and Jack put his feet in the pool. Christine asked Jack if he wanted to get into the pool. Yes. She took him in her arms and off they went. Cue screaming "mummy! mummy! muuuummmmmyyyyyyy!" which lasted for the whole lesson. The whole half hour. hmmm. I stayed at the side of the pool so he could see me and Christine was really awesome and continued on with the lesson.

When he finally got out of the pool, he ran to me and told me.... "I had fun!" and then he didn't want to leave!! That kid is so funny.

Let's see how next week goes...

the shorts I made on my model

New stroller

I now have 4 pram / strollers. Do I need that many?? Well. I think so. They all have a different purpose....

1) Beema Q. This was the pram I bought when pregnant with Jack. I used it so so much when he was little. It served me well. It was a bit heavy and a pain sometimes to lift in and out of the car, but it did its job.

2) Run about little stroller. Bought this when Jack was around 8ish months I think. Just wanted something a bit smaller to throw in the car. Have LOVED this stroller and used it heaps. I didn't buy a layback one as the upright one was smaller and Jack didn't sleep in the pram any more.

3) Phil and Teds. Bought this one once Luke had arrived. I bought it from ebay and kinda wished I'd spend a bit more money as admittedly this one is pretty old and crap. It does its purpose though - I go on lots of walks around the streets with the boys and they like sitting in it. Needed something for both boys for when we go walking.

4) New layback stroller. OK, so this is my new purchase. I bought a cheap layback stroller from Kmart yesterday. It's to use when I'm just with Luke (or when Jack wants to walk) and when I think he will be tired. Unlike Jack, Luke does like to sleep in the pram. I've been taking the Beema with me so he can sleep, but it is a bit hard to get in and out of some shops. Soooo, the 4th pram / stroller has joined us. And what does it need???? Well, a pramskin of course!!!

This is the one I chose. I think it'll look good!!

Made some little shorts

Have got my sew-jo back! When our boys finally get into bed and we have our dinner, there's around an hour or 2 for us to do our own thing. Instead of sittting around watching telly, we've decided to make most nights "hobby night".

Mick is into his photography so is keen for more time to do that, and I'm going to do more sewing / quilting / knitting / crafting etc - yay!

So last night and tonight during our hobby time, I made Jack a little pair of shorts using this pattern

Can't wait for him to try them on tomorrow!

Playing on a "train"

Today, the kids and I went to Coles for some groceries. And I have to admit, it was actually a pretty good trip. I thought it would be a drama, but Jack just walked along next to me putting stuff in the trolley while Luke sat in the trolley trying to chew anything that went near him... especially my shopping list ;)

I have clean washing all over this house, so decided I needed 2 new washing baskets to try to sort out the chaos! When I brought them home, the boys decided to make them into a train. They were laughing and having a great old time!

Relaxing in the heat

Phew! We've had some HOT HOT days lately. We have air con in our house, but only in the living area and our bedroom. The boys' rooms are upstairs and it gets hot in there.

When it's hot at their naptimes, I put Jack to sleep in our bed and Luke in the portacot in the loungeroom. They stay cool and they sleep longer... happy mama!

Last week when Jack woke up from his nap he wanted to join Luke in the portacot. They were so cute in there! Here's a pic

Playing in the sandpit

Jack loves playing in his sandpit and today Luke had his first play in there with him. Jack happily let Luke play with him and they seemed to have a lot of fun while Jack fed Luke some sand put cakes, poured sand over Luke's head and tried to bury him!! It was so cute to see them starting to play properly with each other.

They had a bath together after playing outside

I have a new niece

My husband's brother and his girlfriend recently welcomed little Chloe. She is so gorgeous and so tiny. She is now 3 weeks old and we went to see her today. Makes my big 6 month old look so grown up!

Isn't she devine

Back after a break.... with a new friend!!

I've had a bit of time away from my blog. Didn't really mean to, but a few weeks of crappy nights thanks to a teething / annoyed little boy and due to being away for one of my bestie's weddings, I haven't had the energy to blog... and didn't have anything to say!!

But, that's over now (I'm hoping! we have 4 teeth that have appeared!) so it's back to blogging.

I managed to start sewing an Elephant tonight. I've nearly finished her. She needs to be hand sewed together and her ears need to be sewed on, plus she needs some eyes, but I've finished sewing for tonight.

The pattern is from here

I definitely need to improve the elephant, but for now, this one will do just fine!! I've named this on Enid :)
